Price is where most deals fall apart. Sellers look at follower count, buyers look at earnings, and both walk away annoyed. The fix is a shared framework. Here is the one we use.
Start with the right base
There are only two sensible starting points, and which one you use depends on whether the account already makes money.
| Account type | Base valuation | Typical range |
|---|---|---|
| Earns money monthly | Multiple of monthly profit | 12x – 30x monthly profit |
| No revenue yet | Price per follower | $0.01 – $0.10 per follower |
A page earning $2,000 a month in stable brand deals usually sits between $24,000 and $60,000. A 200,000-follower page with no income usually sits between $2,000 and $20,000 — a wide range, which is exactly why the adjustments below matter.
Then apply the adjustments
- Engagement rate: below 1% cuts the price sharply; above 6% can double it.
- Niche: finance, business, real estate and tech pay the most per follower. Meme and repost pages pay the least.
- Audience country: audiences in high-income markets are worth several times more to advertisers.
- Account age: pages older than three years are more stable and command a premium.
- Monetization status: an account already approved for platform monetization is worth more than one that is not.
- Content ownership: original content beats reposted content, which can be taken down at any time.
A worked example
Take a food page with 89,000 followers, 8.7% engagement, an audience mostly in Western Europe, three years old, no revenue yet.
- 1Base: 89,000 × $0.05 (mid range for a visual niche) = $4,450.
- 2Engagement at 8.7% is excellent: +40% → $6,230.
- 3High-income audience: +15% → $7,165.
- 4No revenue history: −10% → about $6,400.
That is close to what a page like this actually sells for. The maths is not magic — it just forces both sides to talk about the same variables.
Platform differences
- Instagram: priced on engagement and niche. Story views are a strong signal of a real audience.
- TikTok: cheaper per follower because reach depends on the algorithm, not the follower list. Recent view averages matter more than total followers.
- YouTube: the most expensive per subscriber, because watch time and AdSense revenue are measurable and durable.
- Facebook: priced low per follower, but strong for pages with active groups and local audiences.
What lowers a price fastest
- Bought followers with dead engagement.
- Previous strikes, restrictions or shadowban history.
- A niche change in the past six months.
- Reliance on one viral post rather than steady performance.

Frequently asked questions
How much is my Instagram account worth?
If the account earns money, expect roughly 12 to 30 times its average monthly profit. If it does not earn yet, expect roughly $0.01 to $0.10 per follower, adjusted for engagement, niche and audience country.
Do non-monetized accounts sell?
Yes. Non-monetized pages with strong engagement and a clear niche sell quickly because buyers can plug in their own product immediately.
